On Sunday 17th June Resapol’s Managing Director Lloyd Phillips and his wife Carol Phillips hosted a garden party with the aim of raising as much money as possible in aid of the Tor View Specialist School.
Tor View School is at the centre of Tor View Specialist Learning Community. They are an outstanding school that work to provide outstanding education for children and young adults aged 3-19 with a wide range of special educational needs, ranging from moderate learning difficulties to profound and multiple learning difficulties, including severe and complex learning difficulties. Throughout the school staff and volunteers provide for pupils with additional needs arising from physical disabilities, sensory impairments and specific conditions including Autistic Spectrum Condition.
In addition, Tor also boasts a specialist resource, the Intensive Support Centre, which accommodates young people with complex needs arising from behavioural and communication difficulties. They are also a National Support School and a National Teaching School!
The charity garden party was sponsored by Resapol and featured an eclectic range of stalls, games (and a fully stocked bar!) to keep everyone entertained. Over 100 people attended the party helping to make it a great afternoon, most of the funds raised were direct takings from the bar; the fact that the party was hosted on Father”s Day definitely helped!
The sum raised on the day was £1,503.80 and Santander have agreed to match this, increasing the total raised to £3,007.60! Lloyd & Carol presented the cheque to Tor View School to a roar of applause and appreciation.
