The Resapol Foundation has once again reaffirmed its commitment to supporting charities and communities local to our depots. This month a donation of £1,000 was made to Harlee’s Angels.
Who are Harlee’s Angels?
Harlee’s Angels was founded in memory of Harlee, a bright and loving 11-year-old boy whose life was tragically cut short in June 2020 by an undiagnosed brain condition known as an AVM (arteriovenous malformation). What began as a seemingly ordinary evening quickly turned into a heart breaking ordeal. As Harlee was rushed to hospital, underwent emergency surgery, and spent three days in intensive care before his family had to make the devastating decision to let him go. Harlee was a caring big brother, a passionate football player, and always full of smiles.
In the midst of unimaginable grief, his parents made the courageous choice to donate his organs. A decision that saved the lives of six people. Inspired by Harlee’s selfless nature and his own expressed wish to be a donor one day, this charity now honours his legacy by raising awareness of organ donation and supporting families affected by sudden loss. Harlee’s story is a powerful reminder of how one child’s bravery can bring hope and healing to so many.

The charity now aids parents / guardians of a child up to the age of 17 who has died due to sudden death, accident or unexpected / undiagnosed illness residing in the Southampton and surrounding Hampshire area. Harlee’s Angels do this by providing financial assistance with household bills and groceries as well as funding private counselling. The help they give to families, at a time when they have not had time to process what has happened is invaluable. This is why the Resapol Foundation is pleased to be able to support them with a donation.
Why did our Southampton depot choose them?
Andy Bailey, our Southampton Depot Ambassador was instrumental in picking Harlee’s Angels for a donation. He shared, “I chose this charity because an old school friend Matt knew the parents of Harlee. My friend Matt also coached Harlee on the local football team. I heard the sad news on Facebook and since then the parents set up this amazing charity. I follow Harlee’s Angels on Facebook they do amazing work.
When I found out about being Ambassador, Harlee’s Angels came to mind straightaway! I am so so happy to be giving the chance to put forward and help this fantastic charity! “
How will the donation help?
The £1,000 donation from the Resapol Foundation will be used to help fund those vital household finances.
“We are incredibly grateful for this generous donation. It will go directly towards helping families who are grieving the sudden loss of a child—whether that’s through covering essential household costs, funding private counselling, or providing a much-needed day out to create moments of peace and memory during such heart breaking times. Your kindness brings comfort and light to families during their darkest days”.
