The Resapol Foundation Donates to Reuben’s Retreat

15 September, 2025

The Resapol Foundation has reaffirmed its dedication to supporting UK charities and communities with a £1,000 donation to Reuben’s Retreat. This contribution helps the charity continue its vital work with families facing serious illness or the devastating loss of a child.

About Reuben’s Retreat

The journey to becoming a family support charity began in 2012, following the heart-breaking loss of Reuben. He sadly passed away on 21st August, from an aggressive brain tumour, while on a family holiday. In honour of his short but meaningful life, his mummy promised to create a lasting legacy. Just two days after his passing, Reuben’s Retreat was born. A sanctuary offering support to families of children with complex medical needs and those facing the loss of a child. Inspired by the joyful memories they made with Reuben, his family set out to give others the same chance to find peace, comfort, and connection. The Retreat in Glossop, Derbyshire was built as a legacy to Reuben, as a place to relax, recharge, remember and rebuild.

The Resapol Foundation recognises the importance of the work carried out by Reuben’s Retreat and the support they give to the individuals that rely on them. The introduction of various initiatives such as Dads Club, Me Time, Social Welfare and Yoga Rest & Restore add to the network of support offering understanding and a safe space. We proudly present them with a donation.

How will they utilise the donation?

Reuben’s Retreat will use the £1,000 donation to help fund their Christmas events this year. This includes purchasing gifts for families.  Each year, every child and their sibling visiting Santa’s Grotto receive a special gift. We’re proud that our donation will help bring joy and make Christmas a little more magical for these children.

” We are forever grateful to the Resapol Foundation for their kind donation. Reuben’s Retreat supports families after child loss and families whose children may face an uncertain future by providing a place to Relax, Recharge, Remember and Rebuild.  We are currently supporting 853 individuals with tailor-made, bespoke packages of care, support, wellbeing and therapies whilst also renovating our ‘forever home’ which comprises a fully renovated bereavement counselling and support centre with self-catering apartment and an activity wing in the main building, housing a hydrotherapy pool, sensory room, movie room and playroom. We are also fundraising for the final stages of renovation to #CompleteTheRetreat, to build 2 fully accessible self-catering suites and 2 further suites for family breaks.  The generous donation from Resapol will provide Christmas gifts for our families attending our accessible Christmas Sensory Grotto in December 2025, enabling them to make precious memories”.
