The Resapol Foundation Supports Southport Youth Darts Academy

26 October, 2025

The Resapol Foundation has once again reaffirmed its commitment to supporting sporting organisations in communities local to Resapol depots by donating £1,000 to Southport Darts Academy.

Who are Southport Youth Darts Academy?

The Resapol Foundation is proud to support Southport Youth Darts Academy, a fast-growing grassroots organisation that has been nurturing young darts talent for just over three years. The academy began in a small space above the Glasshouse Bar but quickly outgrew the venue. This prompted a move to the larger Railway Club, where it has been based for the past 12 months. Even the new location has reached capacity, with 90 young players currently enrolled and a waiting list of 20 to 30 more eager to join. The academy runs two sessions every Monday evening: one for children aged 6–13 from 6:00–7:30pm, and another for those aged 13–18 from 7:30–9:30pm.

The Academy’s success is already reaching beyond the local community. Five of the older players now compete nationally as part of the Junior Darts Corporation (JDC). One standout talent, Jack Peet, has qualified for the JDC Advanced Tour and will compete in the Youth World Championships in Gibraltar this November. This is the same tournament that launched Luke Littler’s professional career. Jack has recently been signed by Winmau, one of the top darts brands, and two more academy players are set to be signed by Target Darts, the largest darts organisation in the world, with 12-month contracts.

Originally founded to fill a gap in the local area Southport Darts Academy has quickly become a vital hub for young talent and a positive force in the community. The Resapol Foundation is honoured to be able to support their continued growth and success.

Why did our Leigh depot choose them?

Aiden Quinn, our Leigh Depot Ambassador was instrumental in nominating the Academy for a donation. He detailed,

“I play darts in the local league with Craig every Tuesday. My little girl Rosie has played in the academy as well as three of my other family members siblings. It was when I took Rosie to play, I realised how much time and work has been put into the academy. Back then it was only around 10/12 people in the younger group. Now there’s over 30 and a waiting list so it’s nice to see his hard work had paid off.”

How will they utilise the donation?

The £1,000 donation from the Resapol Foundation will be used for more vital equipment for the Academy, and to put some of their 10 volunteers on training workshops to help the kids even more.

Craig Eaglestone from Southport Darts Academy was presented with a cheque for £1000 by the Resapol Foundation representative xxxx and Leigh Ambassador Aiden Quinn.
