Proofex Render
What is it made from?
Proofex Waterproof Render is a ready-to-use blend of dry powders. On site, only a small amount of clean water is needed to produce a highly consistent cementitious render. The material is based on a blend of cements, graded aggregates, special fillers, and chemical additives to provide a material with good handling characteristics, while minimising water demand. It contains no chloride admixtures, reducing impact on the environment.
What is it used for?
It is a ‘Type A’ internal waterproofing solution for new and existing below-ground structures. Ideal for the refurbishment of lift pits, basement areas and tunnels. It can be used to support a ‘Type C’ waterproofing solution where the basement or wine cellars of large houses are being repurposed – for example, a cinema room. The render should be applied over Proofex WR Primer mixed with anti-slip grains/sand. The Proofex WR Primer can be used directly on brickwork, blockwork, concrete and most types of masonry prior to the application of the Render. Or to provide a surface suitable for the application of Proofex 3000/3000MR.
Is it suitable for my project?
Proofex Waterproof Render conforms to BS8102:2022, BS EN 1504 and Class R2/BS EN 998-1. Therefore making it suitable for most refurbishment projects. It is a pre-bagged, one component product, and has excellent thermal compatibility with concrete, resistance to hydrostatic back pressure, and a strong bond to concrete and masonry. It has extremely low permeability to water, carbon dioxide and chlorides, and in conjunction with water and gas resistant membranes, offers excellent protection.
Nitocote AG
What is Nitocote AG?
Nitocote AG is a single component product based on silicone elastomers. The coating creates a porous, hydrophobic barrier that allows the substrate to ‘breathe’, while preventing the graffiti from permanently staining the surface. The cured film forms a clear, flexible seal that enhances and protects the substrate underneath. Spray paints, permanent markers, posters, and stickers no longer adhere strongly to the surface and can easily be cleaned off. For small areas of graffiti, a wet cloth or sponge can be used. On larger areas cold-water low pressure (~80-100 bar) washing can be used. The product is available in a clear grade and is semi-gloss in appearance.
Where is it used?
Nitocote AG is a single component, ready to use product that cures to provide non-sacrificial protection against defacement by most permanent markers and aerosol paints. Nitocote AG is for use in all public areas such as subways, railway stations, car parks and schools. Suitable for use on mineral building materials such as concrete and brick, as well as wood and metal.

- Fully complies with BS7533-101, Table 9, Type 25 bedding mortars
- Mixed 4:1 with tuffgrit (4 tuffgrit : 1 tuffbed 2-pack Type 25). tuffbed 2-pack Type 25 purchases do not include tuffgrit, tuffgrit is sold separately
Key Features & Benefits
Suitable for pavement construction up to traffic category 4.
Performance exceeds BS7533 requirements for Type 25 bedding mortars. Particularly the requirement for positive vertical and horizontal permeability and frost resistance when cured.
tuffbed 2-pack has a maximum capillarity rise of 20mm in accordance with BS7533-101: 2021 5.4.1 when tested to Annex C.
Lower carbon profile: a two-part product without pre-dried, pre-blended aggregate with the binder supplied separately to avoid energy-intensive central processing, saving up to 50% of the energy used to produce a typical pre-blended product where all ingredients are dried.
Bedding depths of 20-70mm can be placed in a single layer. Greater depths are achieved by placing successive layers.
Structure is vital for High Performance to meet all the performance requirements of BS7533-101:2021, something few proprietary mortars achieve, Steintec takes a scientific approach to the selective grading of aggregate used in its bedding mortars. These are closely graded for hardness, angularity, and natural interlock, characteristics which are key to providing inherent strength. The addition of the highest quality binder results in the need for less binder whilst still delivering exceptional strength and the levels of permeability and resistance to capillary rise demanded by BS7533-101:2021 Table 9.
