Description :

STOPGAP F77 is a solvent free two part epoxy resin system which cures to provide a waterproof surface membrane. STOPGAP F77 impedes the passage of residual construction moisture and rising damp from affecting subsequent floorcovering installations, therefore allowing early installation of floorcoverings in fast track building programmes.
STOPGAP F77 is pigmented black to allow the user to visually control coverage uniformity. It can be used to isolate residual construction moisture where relative humidity values are up to 98%.

Application :

The floor temperature must be above 100C when the membrane is applied. STOPGAP F77 should be applied over the whole floor and up to the DPC in the wall.
One coat system up to 98% RH or for use with underfloor heating to a maximum of 90% RH.
Pour the product onto the prepared floor immediately after mixing. Spread the membrane using a 1.5mm x 5mm trowel (included) to achieve the correct coat weight of 1.8m2 per kg. Using a pre-coated roller, roll the material to obtain an even, pinhole free coating, ensuring the coverage rate is not exceeded.
One coat system up to 85% RH
Pour the product onto the floor immediately after mixing. Spread the membrane using an A2 trowel to achieve the correct coat weight of 2.5m2 per kg. Using a pre-coated roller, roll the material to obtain an even, pinhole free coating, ensuring the coverage rate is not exceeded.
It is essential that the membrane hardens to form a continuous coating, free from pinholes or weak spots and that it has a glossy black finish over the whole surface. When applied to very absorbent surfaces, the membrane can be absorbed into the subfloor leaving a subdued shine. In such instances or where pinholes and weak spots are evident, a second application will be required.
When the membrane has fully cured apply neat STOPGAP P141 primer before applying a smoothing underlayment with the exception of STOPGAP 1200 PRO which can be applied directly to the membrane within 24 hours of curing.
Under certain conditions it may be possible to apply a suitable adhesive such as STYCCOBOND F40, F41, F46, F49 or B95 direct to the fully cured membrane.
