Resapol Supports the CRA’s SAP Programme

10 August, 2026

Resapol is proud to be supporting the Concrete Repair Association’s (CRA) Specialist Applied Skills Programme (SAP). Helping to develop the next generation of skilled concrete repair professionals by hosting training sessions at our Head Office. In addition we are providing technical expertise through our Technical Support Manager, Paul Rigby.

As a longstanding member of the Concrete Repair Association (CRA), Resapol is committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen the concrete repair industry. As well as helping to address the growing demand for qualified specialists.

Developing the Next Generation of Concrete Repair Specialists

The CRA’s Specialist Applied Skills Programme (SAP) is an apprenticeship equivalent, CITB-approved training pathway leading to an NVQ/SVQ Level 2 Diploma in Specialist Concrete Repair. The 18-month programme has been developed to provide a structured route into the industry. It combines classroom learning with supervised practical experience on site.

Designed for new entrants, career changers and those looking to gain formal qualifications, the programme equips trainees with the practical skills required to carry out professional concrete repair works safely and effectively.

Training covers a wide range of specialist subjects, including:

  • Comprehensive health and safety training
  • Surveying and testing concrete structures
  • Concrete breakout and repair preparation
  • Steel reinforcement protection and replacement
  • Hand-applied, shuttered and flowable repair techniques
  • Protective coatings and waterproofing
  • Crack injection systems
  • Corrosion protection methods

The programme has been created in response to the industry’s growing skills shortage. It provides employers with an effective way to invest in the future workforce. As the trainees continue through the Specialist Applied Skills programme, they are building the knowledge, confidence and practical understanding needed to develop into skilled Concrete Repair Specialists. We look forward to following their progress and wish them every success as they continue their journey into the industry.

Supporting the SAP Programme

As part of our commitment to the industry, many of the classroom-based training sessions are being delivered at Resapol Head Office. Therefore, providing trainees with a professional learning environment and access to specialist technical facilities.

Mike Threadgold has been key in getting the training programme off the ground, as well as delivering a number of the training sessions himself, sharing his knowledge and experience. Our Technical Support Manager, Paul Rigby, is playing a key role in delivering a number of the practical and technical training modules. With extensive industry knowledge and experience in concrete repair materials, application techniques and best practice, Paul is helping trainees develop the skills and confidence required to succeed within this specialist sector.

By sharing practical knowledge alongside the programme’s structured learning, trainees benefit from real experiences that can be applied directly on site

Working Together

The Concrete Repair Association has long been recognised for promoting best practice, technical excellence and professional standards throughout the concrete repair sector. The Specialist Applied Skills Programme is another significant step towards building a sustainable workforce equipped with the knowledge and practical expertise needed for the future. Resapol is delighted to be supporting this important initiative and looks forward to continuing our involvement as the programme develops.
