The Resapol Foundation is delighted to continue its support for local causes with a £1,000 donation to Kynoch Boxing Gym in Glasgow. This organization was chosen for support by our Glasgow depot this year.
As part of the Resapol Foundation’s commitment to giving back to the communities in which we operate. Each of our depots has the opportunity to champion causes that are making a difference locally.
For our Glasgow team, that cause is Kynoch Boxing Gym, a well-established boxing facility that provides opportunities for people of different ages, abilities and experience levels to get involved in boxing and fitness.
About Kynoch Boxing Gym
Located on Portman Street in Glasgow, Kynoch Boxing Gym was founded by Sam Kynoch. It has grown to become Scotland’s largest boxing gym.
The facility is open seven days a week and welcomes everyone from complete beginners looking to improve their fitness through to experienced and professional boxers preparing for competition.
With two boxing rings and more than 50 punchbags, the gym has become an important part of Glasgow’s boxing community. It provides a dedicated environment in which people can train, develop their skills and enjoy the physical and social benefits of the sport.
Kynoch Boxing Gym is also home to Glasgow City Boxing Club. One of Scotland’s largest amateur boxing clubs and an organisation affiliated with Boxing Scotland.

Making Boxing Accessible in Glasgow
While Kynoch Boxing has strong links to the professional side of the sport, the gym is about much more than producing competitive boxers.
A wide range of sessions are available, with beginners welcomed alongside experienced athletes. The gym has offered children’s boxing from the age of five, parent and child sessions, ladies-only classes, circuit training and boxing sessions for different fitness and ability levels.
Through Glasgow City Boxing Club, the facility also provides opportunities for those wishing to progress into competitive amateur boxing.
This accessibility means the gym can introduce people to the sport from an early age. While also providing an environment where participants can improve their fitness, confidence, discipline and boxing skills.
Supporting a Cause Close to Our Glasgow Depot
The Resapol Foundation was created to help us make a positive contribution to charities, organisations and good causes across the communities surrounding our nationwide depot network.
Rather than focusing our support in one area of the country, our depot teams play an important role in identifying organisations within their own communities that they would like the Foundation to support.
Kynoch Boxing Gym was selected by our Glasgow depot Ambassador, Chris Martin, as the chosen cause for 2026. We are delighted to provide £1,000 in funding to support its work. He explained why he put them forward:
“I’ve chosen Kynoch boxing gym as my charity because of the positive impact it has had on the local community in Glasgow. It provides a welcoming environment where people build confidence, discipline and fitness through boxing, while giving young people a positive place to focus their energy and develop important life skills.”
£1,000 to Support Kynoch Boxing Gym
Sean Ofsarnie, a trustee of the Resapol Foundation, and our Glasgow depot Ambassador Chris Martin were delighted to present the donation.
The donation will be used for equipment for the youth amateur boxing team. It will be providing them with headgear and training equipment in the upcoming season; it will also help with bag replacement and team kits.
“Glasgow city are delighted to be receiving £1000 from the Resapol Foundation, the generous donation will go to help our junior amateur boxing team navigate they’re way through the season.Boxing can be an expensive sport for many but this contribution will help struggling families with kids within the team progress on in the gym and help secure they’re place in future competitions.”
