The Resapol Foundation is delighted to continue its support for local communities with a £1,000 donation to Stockton-on-Tees Sea Cadets. This will help the unit continue the fantastic work it does with young people across Stockton and the wider Teesside area.
Stockton-on-Tees Sea Cadets is a voluntary uniformed youth organisation and registered charity supporting young people aged between 9 and 18. Providing a safe and structured environment, the unit gives young people the opportunity to build confidence, develop practical life skills, gain recognised qualifications and take part in activities inspired by the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy.
Supporting Young People through Stockton-On-Tees Sea Cadets
With a vision to see “every young person launched for life,” Stockton-on-Tees Sea Cadets aims to inspire young people to achieve their potential through challenge and nautical adventure.
The unit currently supports 51 cadets. Backed by a dedicated team of more than 30 adult volunteers, including staff and committee members.
Through regular training and activities, cadets have the opportunity to develop important qualities such as discipline, resilience and teamwork. All while gaining practical experience in areas including first aid, cooking, drill, physical training, fieldcraft, seamanship, paddle sports, rowing and boating.
These experiences aren’t simply about learning new skills. They help young people develop confidence, independence and transferable skills that can benefit them at school, in further education and eventually in the workplace.

Making an Impact Across Teesside
The work of Stockton-on-Tees Sea Cadets reaches well beyond the unit itself.
Stockton also operates as a boating hub for Teesside District Sea Cadets, supporting young people from Guisborough, Middlesbrough and Redcar. Each year, the unit helps more than 120 young people access boating opportunities, while also supporting adult volunteers working towards instructor qualifications.
The Sea Cadets are also active within the wider Stockton community. This includes hosting a monthly veterans’ breakfast club, run by staff and cadets. The event provides an opportunity to show appreciation for local veterans while strengthening links between generations and encouraging cadets to make a positive contribution to their community.
Aiding the Sea Cadets Unit Running Costs
The £1,000 donation from the Resapol Foundation will contribute towards the essential running costs of Stockton-on-Tees Sea Cadets.
Funding is vital in helping the unit maintain access to high-quality training, equipment, activities and facilities. Ensuring local young people can continue to benefit from the opportunities it provides.
“On behalf of the Stockton Sea Cadets, Staff & UMT (Unit Management Team) we would like to thank Resapol for the kind donation of £1000 we received tonight. This money will help towards our utilities running costs of between £500 & £600 per month, it will also help with the cost of the various badges the Cadets are awarded on completion of seamanship courses and other item of training equipment we require each month for the cadets.“

The Resapol Foundation: Supporting Our Communities
The Resapol Foundation was established to give something back to the communities surrounding Resapol’s depots across the UK. Supporting charities, organisations and good causes that make a genuine difference to people’s lives.
This latest donation has local significance, with Stockton-on-Tees Sea Cadets serving the community around Resapol’s Stockton depot and the wider Teesside area. Steve Oliver, Ambassador for our Stockton depot told us why he selected them:
“I chose Stockton Sea Cadets to try and ensure that this generation of young men and women receive the necessary guidance, direction and discipline required to become the next generation of Matelots.
I was a cadet as a youth and went on to serve in the Royal Navy for over 23 years and am proud to have done so.”
The Foundation is proud to provide £1,000 towards the unit’s work and to help Stockton-on-Tees Sea Cadets continue providing opportunities for young people to learn, develop and realise their potential.
