Description:

BentoGuard Membrane is a Type A (BS 8102:2009) highly effective waterproofing barrier formed of geotextiles and Sodium Bentonite. Sodium Bentonite is high swelling and has very low permeability which is encapsulated between both a non-woven and woven geotextile. These are then needle punched, interlocking the geotextiles together creating a strong barrier that provides an even coverage of bentonite. This geotextile barrier also protects it from inclement weather and construction related damage. Once backfilled, the Sodium Bentonite hydrates and forms a monolithic waterproofing layer. BentoGuard Membrane contains no VOCs and can be installed in almost any weather condition to green concrete, and most importantly, has proven effective on both new and remedial water proofing projects.

Benefits :

BentoGuard Membrane forms a low permeability barrier when in contact with water. When wetted, unconfined bentonite granules can swell up to 15 times their original dry volume. Once confined under pressure, the swell is controlled, forming a dense, impervious waterproof membrane. The swelling action of BentoGuard Membrane can self-seal small concrete cracks caused by ground settlement, concrete shrinkage, or seismic action. BentoGuard Membrane forms a strong mechanical bond to the concrete when the geo- textile fibres are encapsulated into the surface of cast-in-place concrete.

Use :

BentoGuard Membrane is designed for vertical and horizontal below ground structural surfaces. Typical cast-in-situ concrete applications include backfilled concrete walls, earth-covered roofs, structural slabs, tunnels etc.

• secant/contiguous piling,
• steel sheet piling,
• shotcrete
• stabilized earth retention walls.
Applications may include structures under continuous or intermittent hydrostatic pressure.
